British label Thru the Mill has recently released a CD with Anita Skorgan singing some of her favourite Christmas songs. The record company describes the CD as “the very first UK release from the Scandinavian superstar singer-songwriter”.

Adventus includes 12 tracks: a few Christmas classics, some traditional songs, Pie Jesu by Andrew Lloyd Weber and 5 whose music was composed by Anita herself. Fans will find an English version of Kyrie Eleison, that the lady performed in Norwegian on her latest double compilation. That song is based on the Prelude No. 1 by Johann Sebastian Bach.

Thru the Mill’s website publishes a long and interesting interview with Anita Skorgan and her involvement with the Christmas repertoire. The cover of Adventus was designed by Sara Skorgan Teigen, the daughter of Anita and Jahn Teigen.

Anita Skorgan represented Norway on three occasions as main artist, in 1977, 1979 and 1982, the last time in duet with her husband Jahn Teigen. She was part of the Norwegian backing singers in 1980 and 1983 and composed the Norwegian entry for Karoline Krüger in 1988.
