Montenegro withdraws from Eurovision 2010

Montenegro is the latest country to announce its withdrawal from the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. The state television of the republic, RTCG, have claimed financial reasons for this decision.

Montenegro will miss the 2010 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. According to their national broadcaster, in a brief announcement, the decision has been taken in order to reach financial consolidation after three years as an independent state.

The country debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 and has participated ever since. This year, their representative was Andrea Demirovic with the song Just get out of my life, narrowly missing out the final landing on 11th place in the first semifinal, Montenegro's best placing in Eurovision.
