The 2009 MTV European Music Awards will be held tonight at the O2 Stadium in Berlin. The show will be aired live on MTV at 21.00 CET. Russian Eurovision Song Contest 2008 winner Dima Bilan will be competing for the Best European Act Award. The other 4 nominees for Best European Act are: Deep Insight (Finland), Doda (Poland), maNga (Turkey) and Lost (Italy).
American Katy Perry will be the host of the show tonight. Viewers and fans will be happy to know that Tokio Hotel, Shakira, Beyoncé, Foo Fighters,Leona Lewis, JayZand Green Day will be performing at the O2 arena during the show.
Berlin welcomes the European Music Awards for the 2nd time, as it played host to the very first edition of the MTV European Music Awards in 1994. This year also commemorates the 20th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall.
