The Official website of top British girl-band the Sugbabes have confirmed that Jade Ewen, the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest represntative for the UK will be joining the group following the split up of the current line-up. Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah will continue as the Sugababes and will be joined by new member Jade Ewen.


Keisha Buchanan who was the only surviving original member of the bandwill continue to record for Island Records as a solo artist. Numorious tabloid speculation have circulated over the past few week after Amelle Berrabah reportedly went missing two weeks ago, with unsubstnciated reports claiming that Buchanan had been bullying the singer. The story developed further when earlir this week a statement was released by Jade's record label Geffen stating: Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, we regret to inform you that Jade Ewen will be taking time off from all promotional activity for the foreseeable future.

At that time the Sugababes' record label Island just made no comment on this story. Sugababes achieved success with their debut single Overload in 2000. Siobhan Donaghy was the first to leave the group in 2001 and was replaced by former Atomic Kitten singer Heidi Range. Amelle Berrabah joined the group in December 2005 following the depature of Mutya Buena.

Sugababes have released 25 singles, 6 of which have reached number-one in the UK charts, 7 studio albums that have reached top 40 charts worldwide with success around Europe and Asia having number-one singles in 15 countries. They release their album ‘Sweet 7 ’ on November 23rd through Island Records

Jade Ewen represented the United Kingdom this year in Moscow, ending up 5th with the song It's my time
