RTVA, the broadcaster responsible for representing Andorra at the Eurovision Song Contest has announced a 10% reduction in their spending budget for next year.
The Director-General, Enric Castellet, of the broadcaster made the announcement that the current management have decided to dismiss the project for Eurovision 2010 and leave the final decision whether to participate in the hands of the shareholdersat a meeting soon.
Mr. Castellet went on further in saying that he was prepared to study ways of participating on an annual basis at the Eurovision Song Contest but RTVA may have to resort to submitting a song once every two to three years at the contest.
He confirmed that for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 held inMoscow on May last, the broadcaster spent €140,000 a figure "with whom we have suffered greatly" said Castellet adding that the ideal investment should be in the region of €300,000.
Andorra was represented by Susanne Georgi with the song "La Teva Decisió (Get A Life)" at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 and finished 15th in the first Semi Final thus failing to qualify for the Grand Final.
