Danish broadcaster DR has announced that the country will decide it's 2010 Eurovision Song Contest entry in a national final, Melodi Grand Prix on Saturday 6th February. The show will take place at the Gigantium in Aalborg.

Denmark's annual Eurovision Song Contest selection show, Melodi Grand Prix will once again be a single show in 2010. The country had moved to a semi final format but returned to a single show in 2009. The winning entry, Believe by Brinck took Denmark to the Eurovision Song Contest final for a second year in succession.

Songwriters can submit their entries to DR until the deadline on 5th October at 12:00. From the submitted entries, six songs will be chosen by a secret internal jury. Four songs will be taken as wildcards from artists invited to participate by the broadcaster.

The 2010 Melodi Grand Prix show will take place at the Gigantium in Aalborg. Tickets will go on sale from tomorrow, Friday 28th September through Billetnet.dk and at post offices across Denmark.

Denmark has won the Eurovision Song Contest twice, one time less than Scandinavian host country for 2010, Norway and two less than Sweden. Until this year, it was the most recent Scandinavian country to win the competition until this year, with the Olsen Brother's 2000 victory with the song, Fly on the wings of love.
