Tonight Iceland continues its selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, as the second semi-final Söngvakeppnin 2017 of takes place.

Tonight’s show

Tonight the next six acts will perform their songs in the university cinema of Háskólabíó in Reykjavík. As with last week, the top three acts, determined by 100% televoting, will qualify for the final next Saturday. Unlike last year, there is no wildcard round.

The participants

Tonight will see the 6 acts performing the Icelandic version of their entries, with the qualifying acts then deciding whether the same version or the English version will be performed in the final.

Eleanor (or Ellie), is 26 years old, is from Exeter in the UK. She combines motherhood with studying linguistics. Ellie was first allowed to stay up and watch the Eurovision Song Contest aged 5 in 1999, but really fell in love with it after the Athens 2006 contest. Big key changes and dramatic stage shows are an absolute must! Ellie has also written an A* academic dissertation on the cultural history of Eurovision.
