A CD single has just been released in Sweden with a version of the song that represented the country in 1973, in its Swedish (Sommar'n som aldrig s�¤ger nej) and English (You are summer) versions, both performed by Wille Crafoord and Magnus Carlsson (ex-member of Barbados and Alcazar).
There is a story behind the CD single. This version is in fact part of a musical entitled Snurra min jord (Change my earth), which is dedicated to Swedish writer and poet, Lars Forssell, he man, who died two years ago at the age of 79, was a big name of the Swedish literature.
"His collections of poetry won him membership of the Swedish Academy in 1971, while his song lyrics brought him widespread public recognition. During the 1970s, he worked tirelessly as a poet and as a song-contest lyricist, including writing for the 1973 Swedish Eurovision Song Contest entry and for performer Lill-Babs in 1980", wikipedia writes.
The musical was a success at the time it was first played (end of 2007) and three extra dates are planned for next November in Vasateatern, in Stockholm. See photo gallery here.
On stage stand two names famous in the Eurovision circle : Arja Saijonmaa and Barbro "Lill-Babs" Svensson. The conductor of the show is Monica Dominique, who already conducted the orchestra in Luxembourg, back in 1973. She and her husband Carl-Axel co-wrote music of "Sommar'n…".

In its English version You are summer, the 1973 Swedish entry performed by duet Nova (originally, named Malta) placed 5th out of 17 contenders, with 94 points.
Magnus Carlsson took part in the Swedish national selection several times : as part of the group Barbaros, alone or as a member of Alcazar, a band he no longer belongs to.
