A video of Alexander Rybak's performance of Fairytale at the Norwegian national final for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest will be shown at the world-famous Oprah Winfrey Show tonight. This marks an unusual coverage of a Eurovision Song Contest entrant in the United States.
NRK spokesperson Anja Nylund revealed that the Oprah Winfrey Show asked the Norwegian delegation to send in the video. It is unsure, why the song will be presented on the show but the actual topic is The world's got talent with Simon Cowell and it also feature Britain's got talent contestant Susan Boyle. Alexander Rybak is also a former talent show contestant having taken part in Norwegian Idol in 2005 and having won the the second edition of the talent search Kjempesjansen. German Eurovision Song Contest Oscar Loya will also be seen performing.
Alexander Rybak will represent Norway at number six in the second semi final of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest this Thursday, 14th May with his own composition Fairytale.
