A request by the Spanish broadcaster to vote in the second semi final of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest instead of the first semi final has been approved by the reference group. As a big four country, Spain is directly qualified for the grand final but is allowed to vote in one of the two semi finals.
Spain was drawn to vote in the first semi final during the semi final allocation draw on 30th January along with the United Kingdom and Germany.
