The song
Leť tmou is a mid-tempo rock ballad with classical elements. The lyrics are about an opressive sadness and the singers make each other hope that they will make it through the darkness:
Cítim chladné, tiene zradné
Túžbou planie Äo je na dne
Prázdno v duši, to sa stáva
Horkú príchuÅ¥ temno máva
My musíme vyjsÅ¥ z tieÅov
Nástrah a slov
Srdce daj, nezúfaj
A leť tmou
I am freezing, there are obscure shadows
The desire glows on the ground
An emptiness in the soul
A bitter taste, a dark taste
We need to get out of the shadows
Intrigues and words
Give your heart, do not despair
And cross the darkness in flight

The national selection

In the national final, televoting chose the top three before the jury chose the eventual winner. Nela Pocisková & Kamil MikulÄík had been the clear winners of their semi final and in the televoting round of the final, before the jury gave them the ticket to Moscow.
Slovakia in the Eurovision Song Contest
Slovakia wanted to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 1993 but narrowly did not make it to Millstreet finishing fourth in the Eastern Europe semi final. The debut came the year after to little success followed by relegations in 1995, 1997 and 1999 after low placings in 1996 and 1998. Slovakia decided not to return to the contest in 2000 and stayed away from the competition until this year.
Želáme Slovensku a Kamilovi MikulÄíkovi, Nele Pociksovej veľa šÅ¥astia a dobré výsledky v Moskve!
