San Marino: Miodio in Sanremo compilation

As reported some weeks ago, in February MiOdio, the Sammarinese band who represented the microstate in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, took part in the online contest “SanremoWeb.59”, which is tied to the italian Sanremo Festival, where they reached the top 10, gaining the honour to get on stage during the festival.

Among the 90 songs participating in this online contest, 20 have been choosen to be featured in a special compilation. The choice has been made regardless of the position the songs have reached in the contest, but with a special attention to their quality. The result is a CD presenting some of the most interesting new singers and groups in the italian music scene – And MiOdio are among them, of course with their song "Evoluzione genetica"!

"Sanremo 59 Web" compilation is out now and you can buy the record here .

To listen to Evoluzione genetica and other songs by MiOdio, you can go to their MySpace page:

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
