OGAE Rest of the World, the branch of the Eurovision Song Contest fans network based outside Europe, have revealed the results of their vote on the 2009 entries. It seems that non-Europeans fans don't share the same taste with those residing in the continent, as the maximum points go to Lithuania. Norway, which have missed out the 12 points just once so far, receives now 8 points. Estonia has come second in the voting. Three countries become newcomers to the scoreboard: Israel, Moldova and Slovakia.

This is how OGAE Rest of the World members have voted:

  • 12 Lithuania (8.3 – average score)
  • 10 Estonia (8.2)
  • 8 Norway (8.1)
  • 7 Bosnia & Herzegovina (7.8)
  • 6 Israel (7.5)
  • 5 Moldova (7.4)
  • 4 France (7.3)
  • 3 Sweden (7.2)
  • 2 United Kingdom (7.1)
  • 1 Slovakia (6.8)

Just missing out:

  • Switzerland (6.8)
  • Portugal (6.7)
  • Iceland (6.7)
  • Russia (6.7)

We see a clearly different voting coming from outside the European continent. The Lithuanian entry has gained recognition from the members of OGAE Rest of the World, being awarded with 12 points and improving its rank in the scoreboard. The same happens with Estonia. Norway, despite not receiving 12 points this time, sees the difference with France broadening in 4 more points. The latter country remains second overall and Spain third, despite getting zero points. Three countries leave their condition of nil-pointers: Israel gets 6 points, Moldova, 5 and Slovakia, 1.
