Jessica Garlick, who took the United Kingdom to joint 3rd place at the 2002 Eurovision Song Contest is back with a brand new single. Hard not to fall will be released on Monday 11th May, one day before the first Eurovision Song Contest semi final.

The former Pop Idol and Eurovision Song Contest singer has taken some time away from the music industry to travel and marry her teenage sweetheart. They became parents to their little girl Olivia in November 2007. Jessica has decided the time is right to return to the music industry and is in the process of completing a new album due for release later this year.

Jessica’s new album has a commercial country style feel to it. It’s very acoustic sounding music. It has been said that it has a very “Carpenters” style vibe from those that have heard snippets already. One of Jessica’s main musical influences growing up was indeed Karen Carpenter.

The new single Hard Not to Fall was co-written by Martyn Baylay (the writer Come Back) who by day is a Captain for BMI airlines, and Phil Bates, whom is part of the band, The Orchestra previously known as the Electric Light Orchestra.

The new single will be released on Monday 11th May and will be available to download from Itunes from Saturday 9th May. Her new website, www.jessicagarlick.com will launch next week.
