The esctoday.com techical department noticed weeks ago that the domain name estherhart.nl was still unregistered. Esctoday.com decided to register the name for Esther Hart when it appeared she won the Dutch final last Saturday, with the intention to give it away to Esther Hart. However, somebody with commercial intentions hijacked the domain.
Minutes after the final esctoday.com received the news that a Dutchman already registered the domain name. After a short talk with Esther's record company it appeared that this man was unknown to them. When we called this person, he said: “I have no plans with the domain name (…) maybe I can sell it to Esther Hart”.
Esther Hart's management has not reacted yet. The hijacker finished the phone call asking us if we were interested to buy the domain name. No thanks…
