It’s barely been four days since Ukraine was declared the winner of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest and the rumour mill is hot on the iron tipping Verka Serduchka as the potential host for next year’s Eurovision extravaganza.

Verka Serduchka aka Andry Danilko represented Ukraine at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki with Lasha tumbai achieving an honorable 2nd place in the grand final. Next year will mark the 10th anniversary of Serduchka’s ESC participation.

Eurovision fans were thrilled to see Verka back on the Eurovision scence this year. Namely the Ukrainian superstar graced our screens twice: during the Eurovision semifinals in Petra and Mans’ carpool video and during the grand final as the Ukrainian spokesperson during the voting.

Will we see Verka hosting the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest? It would be a dream come true for many a Eurovision fan, who adore the Ukrainian comedian and her gigs. If Verka ends up hosting the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Ukraine next year, she will surely add some glitz, glamour, humour and wit to the event.

The preliminary dates for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest have been set on 16, 18 and 20 May.
