Despite previous informations reporting that the Ukrainian national final, scheduled for tomorrow, March 8th, had been temporarily suspended by a Kiev-based tribunal, due to the protests of one of the contestants and her manager, esctoday.com can reveal that the broadcaster's plans go on and the final will finally be held in time.
Criticism to the Ukrainian national selection method for this year's Eurovision Song Contest came from Anastasía Prijodko, now contestant at the Russian national final. Anastasia's manager, Yelena Mozgovaya, claimed that both the national broadcaster and the jury members did not use trustworthy methods to choose the contestants at the country's national final for Eurovision. Then, Anastasia decided to withdraw from the competition and join Russia's national selection.
Therefore, the Ukrainian final will be held tomorrow, March 8th, at 17:00 CET, as initially scheduled. The show will take place at the Ukraina Palace, in Kiev, and will be broadcast on NTU's first channel 1TV. A webcast will be available as well. The winner will be chosen by a mixture of jury vote and public televote, with priority given to the jury in case of tie.
