Counting from the first Bulgarian heat on 1st October, this was already the 22nd week in the national final season for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. Over the week, a series of live shows were held and we now know another seven entries that will compete in Moscow.

Switzerland

On Monday, it was announced that the Swiss entry in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest will be The highest heights. As announced earlier, it will be performed by Lovebugs, who were selected internally by the broadcaster.

Hungary

For the third time already, Hungary announced its representative for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest: Zoli Adok will fly the Hungarian flag in Moscow with his dance song Tanclepes (Dance with me). He follows in the footsteps of Csézy, who finished last in the second semi final in Belgrade.

Slovakia

The last three semi finals of the Slovakian national selection for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest were held on Monday, Friday and Sunday. Three songs qualified in each heat and the line-up of 15 entries for the national final next Sunday is now complete.

Croatia

The semi final of Dora 2009 was held on Friday, one day before the final.Six songs qualified for the grand final to meet the ten pre-qualified acts. Eventually, Igor Cukrov won the ticket to Moscow with his song Lijepa Tena, which was only the second favourite of both the jury and the televoters.

Latvia

Just like in Croatia, the semi final and final of the Latvian selection were held on Friday and Saturday respectively. Ten acts qualified for the final, where it was decided that Intars Busulis will represent the country in Moscow with his song Sastregums. The entry will be performed in Russian.

Sweden

The fourth and last semi final of the Swedish selection was held on Saturday. Eight acts competed and two were chosen to move forward to the national final in two weeks. Another two songs were chosen to enter the second chance round.

Portugal

The Portuguese national final was held on Saturday. Twelve acts competed and in the end it was decided that Flor-de-Lis, who were the favourites of the jury and the second favourites of the televoters, will go to Moscow with their song Todas as ruas do amor.

Spain

Both the third semi final and the final of the Spanish national selection were hold on Saturday. One the last three acts were chosen for final round, twelve acts were in the running. Eventually, it was decided that Soraya will reprsent Spain in 2009 with her song La noche es para mi.

Bosnia & Herzegovina

Bistra voda was presented officially during a gala show on Sunday. As announced before, the entry will be performed by Regina in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest.
