The tabloid news paper Dagbladet reported today on how the Norwegian participant in this year's Eurovision Song Contest will be selected. Also, the twelvth and last of the final entries in Melodi Grand Prix 2003, can be heard online.
As it has become a tradition, regional televoting will be used initially. The country will be divided into five regions, which will, through the Eurovision point system (12, 10, 8, etcetera), select four artists to perform their song once more. In the super final, the rules will be changed. No regional televoting will be used. Instead, the entire country will be one region, thus no point system will be used either. The broadcaster NRK informed the news paper that so far, 3500 of the 4000 tickets on sale have been sold.
The only rock entry in the Norwegian final, the quartet Monopole (pictured) with Wonderful Girl, has been put online by NRK. Tabloid paper VG wrote: “It's rhythmic and the song has a catchy chorus.”
