A first picture of the stage for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow is now online. As announced earlier, it is designed by John Casey, who created the stage in Dublin 1997 and was also involved in the design in 1994 and 1995.

John Casey told livedesignonline.com: "Even before I worked with the Russians on the TEFI Awards in Moscow in 1998, I was inspired by and drawn to art from the Russian Avant Garde period, especially the constructivists. Everything from this artistic time period – from the posters to the three dimensional constructions – has interesting perspective."
Following Dima Bilan's victory in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest with Believe, Russia will host the 2009 edition of the competition on 12th, 14th and 16th May.
