Greece: Satire show plays hoax on Eurovision entry

Tonight, during the Ola 9, a popular satire show on Greek Antena TV hosted by controversial Themos Anastasiades, a video was shown featuring a Bollywood song almost identical to the 2009 Eurovision entry by Sakis Rouvas with the hosts claiming plagiarism. The video was later revealed as a hoax.

A video, supposedly of an Indian song called E tona taho was presented tonight on the late night show by Antena TV Ola 9. The song is almost identical to the 2009 Greek Eurovision entry This is our night and the show's hosts claimed Sakis Rouvas' entry was a copy of it.

It was later proventhat a clip from a Sci Fi Bollywood film, Love 2050, was dubbed and edited skillfully to trick viewers into believing the Greek song was copied from the Indian "original". The videos below show the hoax as well as the original clip which is an entirely different song, called Milo na milo.

esctoday.com would like to clarrify once again for those that have already found the clip on youtube tonight, that the video was created in Greece as a hoax and in no way is the Greek entry accused by the show of plagarism.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
