RÚV have announced the official numbers for the voting of Sövakeppni Sjónvarpsins 2009, the Icelandic national final that was held on Saturday.
In an announcement made earlier this morning, Icelandictelevision broadcasterRÚV made it clear that just over 69,000 votes were cast by the Icelandic public when they chose Jóhanna Guðrún's performanceofthesong Is it trueas thenationsrepresentative for 2009 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest.
The results clearlyshow that when it came down to choosing an entry to fulfill Iceland's Eurovision hopes and dreams, there was reallyonly one choice.
RÚVrevealed the number of votesfor the top 4 entries and they are as follows;

In 2008, Iceland was represent by Euroband. The duo finishedeighth in the second semi final and 14th in the final with their entry This is my life. In 2009, the country will take part in the first semi final on 12th May.
