Natalia Gordienko, who represented Moldova in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest in Athens has withdrawn her participation from the Moldovan final.Edict also withdrew and Olia Tira is considering withdrawing one of her songs.

Two artists have withdrawn from the Moldovan final which was scheduled to take place on 14th February with 20 acts in all. Natalia Gordienko will not take part after all for personal reasons as she stated to esctoday.com. Edict will also be withdrawing their song as they are scheduled for a number of concerts in Romania which cannot be postponed. Furthermore, Olia Tira is also considering withdrawing one of her two songs in the Moldovan final to avoid the split of votes.

It seems unlikely at this point that the the acts withdrawn will be replaced, so until otherwise stated by the Moldovan brooadcter this is the way the country's final for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest selection looks like:

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
