Iceland's most popular radio station, formerly known as simply fm 95.7, held its annual Listeners' Award ceremony last night, where Birgitta Haukdal (pictured) was rewarded seven out of eight possible awards.

Birgitta Haukdal, the Icelandic participant for the Eurovision Song Contest 2003, along with her band Írafár, was nominated for no less than eight awards at last night's ceremony, including female artist of the year, most popular band of the year, song of the year and sexiest pop artist of the year. It was no surprise what so ever, that Birgitta picked up seven out of the eight awards she had been nominated for.

To most people's dissapoinment, the one and only award she did not pick up was best live act. Birgitta and her band were thrilled with the results. esctoday.com would like to congratulate them on this stunning achievement.
