Last Monday was the submission deadline for the Irish national final for the Eurovision Song Contest, Eurosong 2009. Credible esctoday.com sources confirmed that broadcaster RT� has received almost 300 entries.

esctoday.com also learned that an annoucement revealing the six entries that will qualify for Eurosong 2009 is due next week sometime with further details on the showsformat also.

Plus RTÉ are said to behopeful that snippets of the six songs in Eurosong 2009 may be published online or on radio soon.

The Late Late Show: Eurosong 2009 airs on Friday 20th February at 22:35 CET (21:35 local time) and will be broadcast on RTÉ ONE television.

Ireland participates in the second semi final of the 54th Eurovision Song Contest 2009 on May 14th in Moscow.
