After closing the voting, with a total of 117.639 valid votes, RTP announced the results of the online semi final of the Portuguese national selection for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. The twelve finalists will be competing for the ticket to Moscow atTetro Camoes on 27th February.

In 2008, Portugal was represented by Vânia Fernandes, who finished second in the second semi final and 13th in final with her entry Senhora do mar. In 2009, the country will take part in the first semi final on 12th May.
