In April, the very first Dutch Eurovision Preview Concert will be held in Amsterdam. The concert, which is promised to become the biggest Dutch Eurovision event ever, will take place on April 18th and will be organised by Caf�© Rouge in association with OGAE Netherlands, our partnersite www.songfestival.web-log.nl and Bea Records. The concert will take place in Amsterdam Marcanti, a venue which offers place up to 2000 fans.
The aim of the event is to celebrate the 50th participation of the Netherlands in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. Besides that, the organisers hope to put the four times winner back on the map for Eurovision promotours. Preliminary to the Concert, both Dutch and international press is invited to conduct interviews with the 2009 Eurovision hopefuls.
The concert will be hosted byformer Dutch representative, Marga Bult. Back in 1987, Marga took part with the song Rechtop in de wind, which resulted in a respectable 5th position. Marga already confirmed that she will sing her Eurovision entry as well for this special occasion.
All 43 participatingdelegations will be approached to send their 2009 representatives to Amsterdam on April 18. Although most of the countries are still in their selection proces, the organisers hope to reveal the first participating artists soon.
Fans from all over Europe are invited to attend the concert. Tickets will go onsale in February and will be priced € 10,00 in advance. Remaining tickets will be charged € 15,00 at the door. OGAE members only pay € 5,00 by showing their membershipcard.
