After a long meeting held all day yesterday, the special eleven-member jury appointed by the Romanian broadcaster shortlisted 24 songs to compete in the country's two semi finals for the selection of the next representative in the Eurovision Song Contest. Nico, who represented Romania together with Vlad Miritsa in 2008, returns once more with another duet.
214 songs were submitted to TVR's open call for songs, 177 of them were found to beeligible to participate in the Romanian preselection, and from those the jury selected the 24 that will participate in the 2 semifinals to be heldthe 27th and 29th of January at the TVR headquarters in Bucharest. The video clips for the songs will be shot between 11th and 13th January.
The Romanian preselectionhas attractedartists from other countries before, such as LaGaylia Frazer and Biondo from Sweden who made it to the final last year. This year,sees one more artist from abroad, Besa, a young singer from Albania.
