Yesterday, the Eurovision Song Contest world came together to support World AIDS Day. esctoday.com along with our partner websites in Malta, Sweden, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark and the international OGAE movement aimed to help raise awareness about the need to prevent the spread of HIV and raise money for those in need of treatment and to support the many worthy causes working in this field.

Through the esctoday.com and partner page at the Just Giving website, more than 200 euros was raised for the Terrence Higgins Trust yesterday. This is on top of the £100 raised on Friday night at the UKeurovision Schlager Party in London. We know many readers donated kindly to local causes too.

The fight against AIDS and HIV is not over, and neither is our campaign. The donations page at www.justgiving.com/esctoday will remain open until World AIDS Day next year, and we have set a target of £1000 to raise by then.

Every penny donated goes directly from your account to that of the Terrence Higgins Trust. No money passes to esctoday.com, our partner sites or any other party. Please remember this cause and donate when you can.

Once again, everyone at esctoday.com and our partner websites would like to express our deep gratitude for everyone who has contributed to this campaign, whether financially, sharing stories in the reactions section, promoting local charities and organisations and posting their links so others can find them or simply by wearing a red ribbon. We would also like to thank the many singers, commentators and everyone that contacted us to support the campaign.

This article is dedicated in loving memory to Ofra Haza, the bravery of Andreas Lundstedt and to the amazing charitable work of Ani Lorak, Eric Papilaya and everyone working to promote AIDS awareness and support those with HIV and AIDS.
