Spanish broadcaster TVE opened their selection process for Eurovision 2009 two days ago and over 100 applicants have already submitted their song to become next year's Spanish representative. This means an average of 1 new candidature every 30 minutes.

When countdown reached zero last Monday, TVE opened the deadline to submit entries for the 2009 Spanish selection process, entitled Eurovisión 2009: El retorno.Spanishpublic broadcaster andthe social networking website MySpace.com have re-sealed their alliance, that kicked off in January this year and led to Rodolfo Chikilicuatre's election to represent Spain in Belgrade.

Just two days after the beginning of the process, TVE have reported that more than 100 applications have been received, which means that a new candidate signs up every half an hour. Submission deadline closes on December 17th, so it is quite probable that a high number of songs will participate in this year's Spanish selection.
