Spanish broadcaster TVE will continue relying on the Myspace.com method to pick the country's entry for Eurovision 2009. Next year's selection process will be called Eurovision 2009: The return and will be presented on Monday 24th at 12:00 CET. From that date, entries can already be submitted to the broadcaster.
The press conference in which Eurovisión 2009: El retorno will be presented will be held this Monday, 12:00 CET, at the Palacio de Miraflores, in Madrid. The directors of TVE and rtve.es, Javier Pons and Rosalía Lloret, alongside Borja Prieto, responsible for contents of Myspace.com, will introduce all the novelties regarding Eurovision 2009, the new Spanish selection method and its schedule. All those interested in submitting songs to the Spanish national selection will be able to do so from next Monday as well.
Collaboration between TVE and Myspace.com kicked off at the beginning of 2008, when the broadcaster announced that Spain's representative would be selected via the popular social network and a televised gala. That programme was entitled Salvemos Eurovisión and viewers supported Rodolfo Chikilicuatre to represent the Iberian country with the song Baila el chiki chiki. His controversial act in Belgrade placed 16th, nonetheless the best result for Spain since 2004.
