Shiri Maimon, who represented Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, is going to take part in the Global One project. Global One is a worldwide project to record songs with succesful local artists in their native languages in over 20 countries panning five continents around the world.
So far, 29 singers have agreed to record five songs each. Among them are local superstars like Wei Wei from China, who soldmore than200 million records so far andPolish singer Kayah who released six consecutive #1 albums between 1996 and 2007. Another singer can be found in the line-up who is familiar to Eurovision Song Contest fans: Sergey Lazarev, who finished 4th in the 2008 Russian national final with the song Flyer.
Shiri Maimon represented Israel in the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv. With the song Hasheket shenish'ar she finishedseventh in the semi final and fourth in the final outpacing the qualifiers from Moldova, Denmark, Croatia, Hungary and Norway.
