French label Edinamusic has just released a new compilation of Frida Boccara, with many songs that have never been on CD before.

Thecover of the CD is the same than theone published in 1980, Un enfant de France, this song being one of the 14 entries in the French national final that year. Frida Boccara qualified for the final round, but only placed 5th out of 6 songs.

Unfortunately, the song she performed the year after at the French selection, Voilà comment je t'aime (4th out of 6 in the second round), cannot be found, even on vinyl. Although the French Wikipedia article about Frida Boccara mentions a release on Philips record company, all big record Euro-collectors in France have never seen a copy of it.

Frida Boccara won the 1969 Eurovision contest for France, together with the Spanish, British and Dutch entries. The lady died on August 1st, 1996 at the age of 55.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
