Eternamente, the song to enter the 2008 Spanish preselection for Eurovision, composed by France's Yann Charpentier and Spain's Miguel Linde and sung by Mayte will take part at the Candelaria contest, to be held on August 1st and 2nd in the island of Tenerife.

Candelaria is nowadays a well-established musical event in the Canary Islands. Many singers who have took part in this contest have gained recognition and are currently developing an intense recording career.

After shortly missing out the final stages of the Spanish preselection Salvemos Eurovisión this year, Eternamente is yet again in the competition. The singer Mayte and composers Yann Charpentier and Miguel Linde will fight it out to win the Golden Conch at the beginning of August.

Candelaria contest lasts for two days: the semifinal will be held on August 1st. Then, the qualifying entries will go through the final, scheduled for August 2nd.

The winner of the contest will win the Golden Conch and € 6,000, to be shared at a 50% split by singer and songwriter. Runner-up will be awarded with the Silver Conch and € 3,000. Third placed will receive the Bronze Conch and € 1,500.
