It seems that the Eurovision stress has been too much for Swedish singer Charlotte Nilsson's marriage to Italian Nicola Perrelli as the couple announced to the national news service they are taking some time out after 10 years together.

"We will never divorce and have never doubted that we will be together forever. Nicola and me are convinced that we will die together", Charlotte told Aftonbladet . The couple, who met ten years ago and got married in 2003, had been having problems lately due to the artist's heavy schedule but had always dismissed divorce rumours. Now they jointly announced to the national news servicethat they will be taking time out of their marriage.

In Belgrade, Charlotte had to face the music alone during the Eurovision final as Nicola was called unexpectedly back to Sweden to take care of business: " I got a message as soon as I arrived in Belgrade that I had to go back and fill in some papers" he told Aftonbladet, "sounds boring but that's the way it is." Charlotte seemed to be taking the situation calmly at least for the press: "Rotten!" she said, "but what can you do about it?" she stated stoically.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
