Little Tony wants to celebrate fifty years of music career by representing San Marino in their second attempt in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Russia. The 67 year old artist was president of the jury that chose the country's first representatives in the contest, Miodio.
Last night, Little Tony stated on the SMTV news that he wold be very happy to represent his country in next year's Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Russia after Dima Bilan's victory in Belgrade two weeks ago. He will soon ask artists to submit songs for him to choose from.
Little Tony has been around Italian show business for fifty years now having released 29 albums and starred in numerous films, his greatest hit being Un cuore matto in 1967. This year, he made his comeback by participating in the San Remo Festival. "I am extremely happy" Little Tony said during the presentation of his 2008 calendar, "I will have a fantastic song written, not only to celebrate my 50 year anniverary but for San Marino as well".
