Latest criticism over the Spanish representative at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest arrived from the Government. The Minister of Culture, César Antonio Molina, declared to Punto Radio that he doesn't support Rodolfo Chikilicuatre representing Spain because he became “the mock of million of viewers”.

Nonetheless, César Antonio Molina admitted that he didn't watch the performance of Rodolfo Chikilicuatre last Saturday. Anyway, he found enough reasons to disapprove Rodolfo's entry. The Minister of Culture stated that he doesn't represent "anything" of the country and went on to mention that despite the massive audience that Eurovision gathered in Spain last Saturday, "culture must be measured from its quality, not from its quantity".

"A book may not attract such a big audience, but its readers may enjoy an influence that the 14 million viewers of Chikilicuatre don't", stated Mr. Molina, "although their dignity is the same".

Mr. Molina also showed his disapproval on the Spanish postcard that preceded Spain's act, which depicted a bullfighter and a bull: "I am not against bullfighting, it's art, but it is a topic that no longer represents Spain. We are light years away from that", Molina concluded.
