With only a few hours left till the beginning of the 53rd Eurovision Song Contest the excitement among the Eurovision fans is at its peak. After hundreds of rehearsals and almost 6 months of preparations, national finals and semi finals we will soon know the winner and the host of the next year's contest. But who will be the lucky winner? The press and the fans are only certain in one thing – There is no clear winner this year. Anyone could surprise, but lets see what the latest poll from Demandi says.
Over 4000 fans have taken part in Demandi's 2008 super survey and here are their predictions for top three placings:
1. Russia (29%)
2. Ukraine (29%)
3. Sweden (25%)
Furthermore 52% of participants consider the Eurovision night to be a very special occasion.. Despite that 61% of participants consider a good song to be the most important component for a winning act, only almost a third of participants think that Eurovision Song Contest actually aims at choosing the best song.
