Iceland's Eurovision Song Contest hopes for 2008 rest in possibly the safest hands in the competition this year. International superstars, national divas, reigning pop idol champions or multi-million selling artists they may not be (yet), but Fridrik Omar and Regina Osk proved to fans and journalists last night at the Icelandic party that Eurovision fans can put up a fight and go head to head with Europe's best performers.

The first Eurovision Song Contest tribute band toparticipate at the competition dazzled fans with a full live set of Eurovision winning songs, competition favourites and their versions of some of Iceland's entries at their official party.

Iceland hosted their first official party for several years at the Eurovision Song Contest. With the recent traditional Nordic Party having been dropped for 2008, the Icelandic delegation hosted a special night of their own to show off the whole of Euroband. Whilst Fridrik and Regina will perform This is my life in the second Eurovision Song Contest semi final, they performed a full set with the whole six piece band at Belgrade's trendy Magacin nightclub.

The Icelandic singers were joined by the full line-up of Euroband for a live music spectacular that showed off the singers' vocal talents as well as their love for the Eurovision Song Contest. They are not a band dedicated to their song and performance on the night, they are a band founded on their favourite music show and working hard to honour it. Winning the Eurovision Song Contest would be the realisation of a true fairy tail for Fridrik Omar and Regina Osk.

You tube videos from tonight's concert will be added in the coming hours.
