Monday night, Joachim Deutschland was introduced as one of the 15 participants in the German final Countdown Grand Prix. Less than 24 hours later, he was disqualified by broadcaster NDR. Yahoo.de reported that.

“A few weeks ago – without the knowledge of the NDR or even his record company Sony – he has released a song that is not acceptable in any way and to which his appearance at the Grand Prix would have helped to raise inopportune attention to”, the broadcaster declared in an official statement. The song in question is said to be named 'Die Stoibers' and is rumoured to contain very offensive lyrics about the wife and the daughters of Edmund Stoiber, the prime minister of Bavaria.

Deutschland, who calls himself a “black punk”, has raised some attention at yesterdays NDR's press conference at the Schmidt Theatre in Hamburg when he lowered his pants to show his naked bottom and made obscene comments to the journalists.

As NDR has stated on their Grand Prix Website, there will be no replacement for the disqualified singer, which reduces the number of participants in the German final to 14.
