One of the three Dutch backing vocals, Ellen Eeftink, is interested in a Eurovision participation next year. That's what she told to esctoday.com this afternoon, during a short interview in the city town of Belgrade.
Ellen told us that she'd love to take part next year. 'If Dutch broadcaster NOS would ask me, I' d say yes immediately. I love this contest, so when I was asked to become one of Hind's backing singers this year, I didn't have to think. I'd love to give it a try next year as a solo artist.'
The Dutch singer, who became third the third edition of Idols, made clear that if she was asked by NOS, she'd prefer to sing a ballad in next year's Eurovision Song Contest. ' On the other hand, an up tempo song, might be better for Eurovision. In that case I' d like to do it all over the top; I would bring all the glitters and feathers on stage. But of course the quality of a song goes above all.'
On the other hand the two other Dutch backing singers, Carolina Dijkhuizen and Peggy Sandaal, aren't too interested in a Eurovision participation as a solo artist. Carolina: ' It's great to do it this way, but I' d never consider to take part as a solo artist. I just don't like the competitive part of contests.'
During our meeting with the Dutch delegation this afternoon, it became clear that the Dutchies are enjoying their stay in Belgrade to the fullest. Ellen: 'It's been amazing until so far; we have a great team and we were very satisfied about the first rehearsal as well. Yesterday evening we were all dancing on our tables after our dinner in a restaurant. We're really enjoying ourselves!'
