Song 10: Latvia – Pirates of the Sea- Wolves of the Sea

Pirates of the Seatake tothe stage for the first of this morning's rehearsals.The routine is slightly changed from the one shown at the Latviannational final.It now includes a sword flightbetween backing singers and a picture in picture moment when a pirate looks into a telescope. Plenty of hand waving and energetic dancing from the pirates. We see greater emphasesgiven to lead pirate Roberto Meloni, whose strong vocals carry the sound off the ground effectively. Pirate flags are waved by the backing performers at the end of the song. This is greatentertainment andprobably the most fun we have seen so far on the Eurovision Song Contest stage this year, the song is definitely in contention for the top spot.

Song 11. Croatia – Kraljevi Ulice & 75 Cents – Romanca

Croatian rap is brought to Eurovision by 75 year old Ladislav Demeterffy. Armed withwalking stickhe gives aspirited and cheeky performance of Romanca. He seems to take a slight fancy to the young femaledancer on stage. Strong vocals and warmtuneful melodiesare produced byKraljevi Ulice. Flyingdoves displayed on the screens behind the singer throughout the song. The song finishes with Ladislav spinning disks on an old gramophone.

Song 12: Bulgaria – Deep zone& DJ Balthazar – DJ, Take Me Away

Flashing ultra violet lightintroduces the entry from Bulgaria.The presentation starts with amazing break dancing by the male backing dancer and then moves to showDJ Balthazar and DJ Dion holding guitar turn tableswhich allows the DJs to spin disks at the front of the stage.Singer Joanna looks stunning in a red gown which is open in the front to reveal shapely legs and a pair of garters.She holds exotic ostrich feathers to complement her outfit and delivers perfect vocals for DJ, Take Me Away.Towards the end of the song the DJ set disks alight on the turntables for great effect. The performance also includes a laser harp which plays tunes as a laser is touched.This is certainly the most contemporary song in this years contest.

Song 13: Denmark – Simon – All Night Long

Simon Mathew delivers a strong vocal performance for this gimmick free rendition of All Night Long. Dressed in a white shirt, gray trousers, flat cap and braces he is joined on stage by a four pieceband.The song is delivered with enthusiasm and has a joyful feel. He makes use of the catwalk and it looks set for some good over-the-shoulder crowd shots.
