A song performed by Toe Proeski, the FYR Macedonian and Balkan megastar who tragically died in a car crash on a Croatian motorway last autumn has won the award Song of the Year at the annual Croatian music awards ceremony Porin.
Singer-songwriter Miroslav Rus who wrote the song accepted the award for the song Igra bez Granica (Game without Borders) with a scarf with the Macedonian flag round his neck.
He said that this was no ordinary award, and that he "wanted to thank Toše in particular."
There had been much gossip and speculation surrounding awards for the late singer, who was not a Croatian citizen.
Toše Proeski represented FYR Macedonia at the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Life.
