Just a few days before competing against 18 other contestants in the second semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest, Swiss entrant Paolo Meneguzzi will be striving in an entirely different Arena, for charity this time. On 12th May, Paolo will be playing together with Eros Ramazzotti against a team of sportsmen, including legendary Maradona, in the Partita del cuore match, at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
For the seventeenth year in a row, la Partita del quore will take place in Italy, in Rome this year. The Nazionale Italiana Cantanti, a football team comprising some of the biggest names in the country's musical industry will be playing against Unica, a team of number 1 sportsmen, TV personas and actors of past and present.
Paolo Meneguzzi, the Swiss ambassador in the Eurovision Song Contest will be once more participating with the Nazionale Italiana Cantanti, just a few short hours before his first rehearsal at 14.30 the next day in Belgrade. Paolo also participated in the 2006 Partita del cuore, when he scored one of the six goals of his team.This year, Paolo, together with Eros Ramazzotti and Gianni Morandi, will be playing against Argentinian football legend Diego Maradona and Brazilian Zico, also known as the white Pelè.
The proceeds from this extremely popular charity will go to the Parco della Mistica Foundation, for the creation of the first Productive Campus of Law and Solidarity. The match will be transmitted live on Raiuno.
