Deep Zone & DJ Balthazar, the Bulgarian representatives in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, are continuing their promotional tour for their entry DJ, Take Me Away. Last week the group visited Portugal and the UK and will continue next to Bucharest and Athens.
Deep Zone & Balthazar made their third European tour from 24 to 28 April crossing Europe from Lisbon to London. Highlight of their visit to the Portuguese capital was an interview for 'Portugal No Coração' of public broadcaster RTP, the most popular entertainment show watched by over 4 million viewers in Portugal and hundreds of thousands Portuguese immigrants around the world. The hosts of the show João Baião and Tânia demonstrated their dancing skills whilst moving to the beat of DJ, Take Me Away.
On 25th April, the artists took off to London, where they were in for a busy schedule. The Bulgarian musicians were VIP guests of the Eurovision Preview Party, where they met many fans, gave interviews for London-based national TV channels, radio stations, and international websites. During the event, Deep Zone & DJ Balthazar met and spoke to some of their competitors such as Ani Lorak from Ukraine, Ruslan from Belarus, Morena from Malta, and Andy Abraham from the UK.
An amusing part of the tour was a random meeting of the Bulgarian performers with the Darth Vader’s stormtroopers from the Star Wars movie. Deep Zone & DJ Baltahzar posters were "nicked” by the sci-fi characters in front of a trendy London shop. The Bulgarian artists, however, stormed into beatbox and vocal interpretation of DJ, Take Me Away, accompanied by break dance directly on the street, which got troopers themselves dancing.
Later, the musicians went to Abbey Road Studios, where the Beatles used to work back in the 70s. The Bulgarian performers had a special photo session on the famous zebra crossing in front of the Studios.
The high class Kensington night-spot The Collection was their final destination in London. Where Deep Zone & Balthazar performed a concert played some of their biggest hits. The guests were treated to live focals from lead vocal Joanna, singing passionate tracks with electronic arrangement. The audience exulted when the singer appeared on the dance floor wearing her garters, which have already become her trademark. The Collection is Paris Hilton’s favourite night club and is half owned by the hotel heiress.
The next stops for Deep Zone & Balthazar’s promo tour will be in Bucharest and Athens.
