This week, Ani Lorak's Shady Lady tops the official Ukrainian Top 40 airplay chart, bulleting from spot #5 last week. Ani thus becomes the first Ukrainian Eurovision contestant to achieve that before the contest.

Shady lady entered the Ukrainian Top 40 Airplay chart six weeks ago, reached spot #5 last week and now it can be seen at number one. No other Eurovision entry has achieved that in Ukraine before the contest itself. In the same chart Ruslana, the 2004 winner, falls from #2 to #5 after peaking at number 1 with Vidlunnjya Mrij and Tina Karo'sl (Ukraine 2006) Poljus Pritjazenija remains at #24 after spending 22 weeks in the chart.

Recently Ani was in Belgium to promote her Eurovision entry and she was caught on camera by Eurovision.tv. The popular Ukrainian singer tells the fans why they should vote for her song in Belgrade.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
