On Tuesday April 29th, Spanish broadcaster TVE will air a special programme to choose three backing dancers that will join Rodolfo Chikiliocuatre, Disco and Gráfica on the Belgrade stage next May 24th. The host of Dancing Chiki Chiki will be Santiago Segura, also responsible for the lyrics of the Spanish entry.

The show, to be aired next Tuesday on TVE1 at 22.00 CET, will feature the six finalists who made it to the final stage of this dance competition. Three of them will be chosen to accompany Rodolfo Chikilicuatre and his two main dancers Disco and Gráfica on their mission to save Eurovision this year in Belgrade.

Over 200 candidates took part in the early stages of the casting, held in Madrid, Barcelona and on the Internet. Being a professional dancer is not a must, stated Javier Roca, director of next Monday's show. "We are looking for people who meet Rodolfo and his girls' style", Roca added. The three lucky winners will follow the instructions of Maite Marcos, this year's Spanish choreographer.

The popular actor and comedian Santiago Segura, the man behind the lyrics of Baila el chiki chiki, will present Dancing Chiki Chiki. Viewers will watch several unseen images featuring Rodolfo's preparations for Belgrade.

UPDATE

The show was initially expected to be broadcast on Monday April 28th. Due to changes in TVE1's schedule for Monday evening, when an interview with the re-elected Spanish Prime minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero will be aired, Dancing chiki chiki has been moved to Tuesday 29th.
