One of the few countries which have participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest from the beginning, Malta, have today confirmed to esctoday.com that they will be participating in the 2008 Contest, to be held in Limassol, Cyprus on the 22nd November 2008.

Malta have participated in Junior Eurovision from the beginning, in 2003, when they gained their best placing, with Sarah Harrison 'Like a Star' whi ended 7th place in Copenhagen. In 2005 Malta gained their worst placing in JESC, when they ended last with 18 points, with Thea and Friends 'Make it right'.

There has been much speculation about the future of Maltese representation in the Junior Eurovision, but, today Maltasong confirmed to esctoday.com that they would be represented in November for the 6th Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

As we earlier announced there were 11 countries who had confirmed their participation for Limassol, now with Malta we have 12: Armenia, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus (2008 Hosts), Georgia, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Romania, Russia and Ukraine.

Also as earlier reported the United Kingdom may return to Junior Eurovision with their 3rd broadcaster S4C, plus Poland are hoping to return, after they withdrew just before the 2005 contest.
