OGAE Cyprus members have declared their votes on the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, and clearly the fans from the sea encased country have been attracted to the Portuguese entry, awarding them 12 points in a landslide win ahead of host nation Serbia in second place. Interestingly, Greece just missed out on a point.
The OGAE Cyprus vote:
- 12 points – PORTUGAL 884 POINTS
- 10 points – SERBIA 780 POINTS
- 8 points- ICELAND 712 POINTS
- 7 points – ISRAEL 710 POINTS
- 6 points – ARMENIA 702 POINTS
- 5 points – SWEDEN 650 POINTS
- 4 points- ALBANIA 641 POINTS
- 3 points – NORWAY 637 POINTS
- 2 points – SWITZERLAND 611 POINTS
- 1 point -UKRAINE 598 POINTS
THE COUNTRIES THAT FOLLOW ARE:
- GREECE 572 POINTS
- HUNGARY 516 POINTS
- SLOVENIA 378 POINTS
- ROMANIA 361 POINTS
The first 12 points of the year for Portugal sees them jump to eight place in the scoreboard, whilst another strong score for Serbia sees the 2008 host country fast closing in on second place. Iceland and Norway also continue their charge, both are now in touching distance of the top five.
