Last night at London's Retro Bar, the United Kingdom's capital began preparations for the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest in style. Whilst the monthly Eurovision event held it's first semi final preview, Capital Radio began it's coverage of the UK Eurovision Preview Party.
Retro Bar, off of The Strand in the heart of London's West End, plays host to the Douze Points night on the second Thursday of every month. Last night's event saw the preview of the first Eurovision Song Contest semi final, with a full house. Tickets for the event were priced at £3, and the money will be divided between charities, including the BBC's Children in Need.
The event saw all 19 songs competing in the first semi final played, the crowd were divided into juries to vote. The winner of the first semi final according to the British crowd was… Norway!
